Be on time and be yourself. Just watch and follow what the host and hostess will do. If you are not sure quietly ask them for advice! This is the best way. Americans are not as formal as the British. So relax and enjoy the company. If you have been invited, I am sure they will give you leeway since you are a foreigner. Whatever the case maybe, you need to be polite as all others had told you. I am of course you are being invited by an American family. If you are invited to dinner by an American boy just the two of you, then better watch out if there is any after dinner entertainment is involved!
Table manners and etiquette should be considered wherever one is invited regardless from their nationality.

I would be generalizing, if I noted something in particular but in general you wouldn't be necessarily knowing what kind of cuisine they will offer, it could be a variety of different cuisines and in fact you won't need to be so strict about table manners, they are more casual in general.
